Andros

Andros is the northern island of Cyclades and the second biggest after Naxos, 380 kilometers. Distancing 6 nautical miles from Euboea [Cape Kafireas / Cano d’oro] and less than a nautical mile from Tinos. The island is about 40 kilometers long, 17 kilometers broad and 36 nautical miles away from the port of Rafina. The shoreline of Andros is mountainous, about 176 kilometers in length and according to Andreas Embirikos, Andros is ” the queen of the Aegean …… the finest in the world ”.

Andros is a miniature of Greece. It is mountainous, with many ravines, small rivers, vineyards, citrous trees, plane trees, cypress trees, oak trees. Andros is known for its numberous springs.The biggest is Zenios in Petalo. The spring water of Sariza has healing properties. It is mineral, light, delicious, similar to Evian.
